Am I the only one that—as soon as I put a mask on—I feel the need to touch my face? 🙂
It happens every time; I usually put it only when I’m inside a grocery store, I didn’t go anywhere else since the pandemic started. It’s like a trigger: mask on… touch face on!
Let’s see, what other triggers do I have?
• IngramSpark promo code on… have to use it!
• One (self-imposed) project almost done… I keep thinking: what’s the next one?
What triggers do you have?
Mine are skilled teachers as well!
• The “mask on” reminds me of “mind your business”. Although I don’t see them, there are threats out there, so I need to take care of myself. It’s so easy to forget! Our conscious mind is tricky: it wants us to believe that what we don’t see doesn’t exist. It’s so not true! And I’m not talking only about COVID-19.
There are so many things happening in the world—and inside us—we’re not even aware of! “Mind my business” is a reminder to be open and stay curious (increase my awareness), instead of getting used to “what is”! And what an interesting life journey this attitude helped me to build!
• IngramSpark—besides Amazon—is a platform to upload the book files, which allows distribution to many more outlets that otherwise I couldn’t reach (big bookstore chains, online bookstores, libraries…). I’m not addicted to promo codes, except IngramSpark’s! Since I became an indie author, IngramSpark’s promo codes are useful reminders to take care of my books!
Ok, I admit: I became addicted to see people’s reactions to my books, and I tend to look for the next one to write and publish. This often makes me forget that—if I do little about increasing their visibility—these books won’t reach those who might benefit from them. And keeping money in my pocket (the other benefit of using IngramSpark’s promo codes) is not a chance I get often. It made me save $400 in June, the fees for uploading books file for several formats.
• Self-imposed projects? I love them! So much that I tend to go from one to another with no break in between. Yes, this puts a toll on my health: a lesson that’s still not fully learned! 🙂
Another one is patience! Oh boy! While working on one project, my conscious mind wants to know what’s the next one! Yet, life taught me that the next right one might not reveal itself just yet; it will at the right moment. That’s a great patience test! I’m getting better to it though. What helps me: self-imposed deadlines! I gave myself the challenge to publish a new book by June 30, and I kept reminding my curious self… that I have to focus on this one now, instead of getting disappointed that I’m not aware of the next project yet.
And it worked!
My new book Spiritual Concepts: A Visual Representation is now available on Amazon (special price), Kobo, and soon on other platforms:
https://amzn.to/2VxYJE8 (US) • https://amzn.to/31vg9oB (Canada) • https://amzn.to/3icZgF0 (UK) • Kobo
Yeyyy, I made it: two books published at one month difference!
Hopefully, the pandemic restrictions will make the print books more available. On some Amazon websites, the paperback version of the new book is not available yet. And I still wait to receive the hardcover edition of my previous book (Metaphors: An Emotional Journey).
Now back to you:
What are your triggers? And what do you learn from them?

PS1: Editorial Reviews:
“A spiritual journey in a few pages. Beautiful story and inspiring pictures. Intriguing and asking for more exploration.” ~ I.B.
Gabriela Casineanu delivers, through a visual message (her paintings), the meaning of spirituality in her life. A healthy, balanced, and spiritually immerse existence, could enhance our skills or make us discover ones we were not aware of. “Spiritual Concepts” is the result of such a personal transformation. ~ Claudiu Murgan, author of Water Entanglement
PS2: As I’m writing this blog post, I spotted my new book as #1 Amazon Hot Release in two categories.
